Plant dictionary entries have a source field which is the owner of the entry. This 3 to 5 character code is maintained by you in your user profile. When you create a new entry, or change an existing entry, Plant List GPS changes the source code to your source code. This is helpful when exchanging plant lists to understand the source of an entry.

Markers entries contain GPS and other information about the location of a plant, or the location of a land feature such as a trail head, parking lot or navigational waypoint. Plant markers have data fields to store plant population data. For example 5 plants in a 10 ft circle, or hundreds in a field north of the road. When creating a plant marker, you are prompted to pick a plant entry from the plant dictionary thus speeding and simplifying the task of recording the location of a plant.
